Today, March 3, 2020 is the anniversary of the death of Harlan Howard. An eighteen year
void. Nearly two decades of longing. Longing to see his smile, longing to hear his voice. Longing never goes away. It lingers like a fog.
I usually visit his grave in remembrance, but on this rainy day, I think I’ll sit in his office and
listen to his melodious voice sing to me. I hope it lessens the longing.
